Re Pet, manufacturers of plastic from recycle of plastic waste, is set to bring in more earnings. The reason for its higher revenue is the demand for its goods in Britain and the rest of the world.
The company's recycle of plastic waste into plastic sheets used in the packaging industry, has been going on since 2010 the year it was established. The company attracted investments of pound 1.2 million last year and has further received a second boost of investment of pound 5, 00,000. These investments have been invested in a new plant with the latest in technology that will recycle plastic waste to meet the demand for sheets.
According to John Forrest, Managing Director of Re Pet, with the operation of the new plant revenue earnings of the company will reach up to 8 million pound by March 2013. Further expansion would depend on demand. Forrest adds that the business has grown well from the initial stage and has matured to a reasonable size. However he continues that UK would have to go for a change in attitude towards recycle of plastic waste in the race to go green. The other European countries were way ahead as compared to UK in this matter.

A convention organized by Secondary Materials And Recycled Textiles (SMART) at the Hotel Del Coronado, urged people to recycle clothes. Sixty vendors from industries handling recycle of clothes had assembled to persuade people to give up even their rags.
According to Jackie King, executive director for SMART, people are under a misconception that they cannot recycle clothes. On the contrary they can, even if they have stained their dresses with wine or coffee or the dress having gone out of fashion. There are different ways to recycle clothes.
Clothes which are not useable in the US but are in good condition are shipped to developing countries where this recycle of clothes provides garments to people who cannot afford to buy them.
Recycle of damaged clothes take place when they are picked up by shops as shop towels or dusters.
Rags which are in shreds are recycled into fibers for padding of carpets or used in insulation.
A typical South Californian day off dress code comprising of a T shirt and a pair of jeans can be recycled into cut up for rags or shredded to become insulation at home.
The convention suggested recycle of other items like mattresses, pillows, carpets, belts etc. into useable products. The only requirement was that the recycle clothes had to be damp free.

With the industrial revolution and the main economic drive being that of profit, there arose the disposable manufactured product. This seemed perfectly fine for a long time…until it started to catch up with us. While, of course, the modern conveniences of our economic trajectory has produced wonders, it's about time that we ensure that our sense of progress also includes cleaning up our act. I'm encouraged by programs like LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). Companies like Empire Today, which sells Empire carpet, for instance, supports LEED certification. So the ball is rolling. We just need to pick up steam because we don't have the luxury of taking our sweet time. I believe in our resilience and ingenuity. I know we have what it takes to shift to the degree of sustainability that it's going to take to properly correct our trajectory. There are also some economic boosts to be had, such as in the field of recycling. This is an industry that is seeing expansion and increasing job opportunities. In taking the necessary steps, we have so much to gain. In maintaining the status quo, we have so much to lose. Let's not back down from being and doing our best.
